Low Food Festival returns after successful first edition

Following the success of its first edition in 2023, Low Food and Move Amsterdam, in collaboration with ATAG, proudly announce the second edition of the Low Food Festival, which will take place from September 6 to 8. Over three days, food lovers, from novice home cooks to seasoned foodies, will once again have the opportunity to taste unique dishes and products while expanding their culinary knowledge under the guidance of national and international chefs. The lineup includes Max La Manna, Yvette van Boven, Freddy Tratlehner (Vjeze Fur), and Joris Bijdendijk (RIJKS® and WILS), Asma Khan (Chef’s Table), and Calum Franklin (The Pie Room).

What’s Cooking?

The festival features live shows, tastings, guest chef dinners, workshops, a food tour, and a food market. Visitors can immerse themselves for an entire weekend or come for a few hours to soak up the atmosphere and culinary trends. During the shows, visitors can watch live as renowned chefs prepare their signature dishes and share their secrets. For gourmet enthusiasts, the kitchens of WILS Restaurant and WILS Bakery Café will be open throughout the festival with special festival menus and guest chef dinners. Be sure to make reservations for these star-worthy lunches, drinks, and guest chef dinners.

For those interested in the ingredients top chefs use, there is a food market with a lineup of special products. There is also a workshop program in collaboration with delicious.academy, ranging from cooking workshops to food photography and patisserie. A children's program is available for all young foodies aged 6 and up, free of charge.

Who’s Cooking?

Like the first edition of the Low Food Festival, this year’s event features big names. Think Asma Khan from the Netflix series Chef’s Table, or Calum Franklin, the king of the English pie from London. American low-waste chef and cookbook author Max La Manna will give a live show offering practical tools for cooking with minimal waste. Additionally, cooking sensation Freddy Tratlehner and top chef Joris Bijdendijk (RIJKS®, restaurant WILS, and WILS Bakery Café) will perform a show, along with many more inspiring chefs taking the stage.
