CHEFS ACADEMY

Become a chef that inspires a New Dutch food culture

Welcome to Low Food Chefs Academy

Do you want to become a chef that wants to use gastronomy as a force for good? You’re in the right place!

The Chefs Academy is a yearly program entirely devoted to sustainable gastronomy. Young chefs in training are taught by leading chefs, product developers, food scientists and farmers from home and abroad, and learn how they can contribute to a sustainable and inclusive food system from their profession.

What is the Chefs Academy?

In a five-day program, we offer lectures and masterclasses by chefs, product developers, and scientists. This way, you broaden and deepen your knowledge of gastronomy and the food system.

You learn about the cultural, ecological, and economic stories behind dishes. We combine theory with practice: this means that in addition to lectures and workshops, you will also go out in  the field. During the program, you will work with other participants on a concrete case and gain experience in research. Additionally, you will build a valuable network and become involved in the Low Food movement.

Please note: the program’s working language is Dutch except for classes from foreign tutors in English.

Who can participate?

The Low Food Chefs Academy is open to young (aspiring) chefs who want to expand their knowledge of food.

We welcome (junior) chefs of all levels from professional kitchens with a passion for Dutch food culture and strive for a diverse group of participants.

Interested and want to sign up?
